Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee's Stolen Sex Video
|

Pamela Anderson is a blonde Canadian bomb shell, an extremely talented actress, and a mom (MLF). She developed a new clothing line and is a spokesperson for PETA, and she truly is an American Icon. One thing that every true American icon has is controversy over someone or something and Pamela Anderson is definitely not an exception to this rule. She has had numerous controversial issues involving her and others in the past, and more then likely there will be more to come in the future. From her ever-changing breast size to her on-again and off-again relationship with her ex-husband Tommy Lee, to her engagement to Kid Rock, to her newest Stripperella cartoon she will be talked about for years to come. Pamela has been criticized by few and idolized by many. The one controversial issue that everyone has heard at least a little bit is about the stolen sex video, "Pamela Anderson And Tommy Lee: Stolen Home Video". Theft is a crime in the United States and its unethical and appalling that Pamela filed numerous cases with the courts and lost every one. Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee sued a Los Angeles man for selling copies of their stolen X-rated private videos. A man by the name of Milton Ingley is the one they accused of stealing the tape from their Malibu home in 1997 while he was doing construction work on their property. Pamela and Tommy filed the lawsuit on September 23, 1997 in Los Angeles. This is the (ex) couple's third legal attempt to get people out of their privacy and trying to get the homemade video back to their private collection with the others. Penthouse published still photo shots from the video in 1999. Pamela and Tommy sued the magazine for $10 million and lost. The judge dismissed the invasion of privacy complaint, because he said Pamela's previous Playboy pin-ups and Tommy's heavy-metal drumming duties, made them both public figures. The judge also ruled that the pictures were no longer private since they had previously been published in the French and Dutch edition of Penthouse and in Screw. My one friend was actually videotaped having sex without her knowledge of it. The tape was then copied and sent out to just about everyone that the guy who taped the act knew. She was embarrassed as well as her partner and it was definitely an invasion of their privacy. Legal action could and should have been taken but it wasnt. But with all the hype about Pamela and Tommy's case and in the end them getting screwed (no pun intended) and losing why would a normal every day couple try to take a stand and take action. If Pamela and Tommy can't do it, no one can. Pamela and Tommy do have a life outside of the public eye and they're just like any other couple. Its crazy to think how ruthless some people are just to make a buck or in this case a hundred bucks per tape. Its appalling and immoral that someone that wasn't even involved in the act made millions. Pamela and Tommy's tape was the number one selling pornography video for almost ten years. It was just recently surpassed by Paris Hiltons video. Another thing that is very interesting to me is the dates on these cases. This happened seven years ago and I still found so much on the internet about the case and other celebrities opinions on it that were just recently posted. The sex video scandal is an American icon in itself and represents what we thought our country stood for and what really does happen in our country. Theft is against the law in the United States, and its crazy to think that the one that stole the tape right from Pamela and Tommy's home didn't even get punished for it. Pamela and Tommy should have won the case and also for the case against Penthouse who used a few still shots of the stolen sex tape in their magazine. The rulings made no sense and I'm just glad I'm not a celebrity!! |
